Working with Barratt David Wilson Oaklands Construction Ltd were engaged to commence works as principal contractor applying for the F10 and all associated Licences in conjunction with our works.

We completed the welfare set up, enabling works, reduced level dig, cut and fill operation then proceeded with foul and surface water sewer systems and formation of 1.8km of roads to this prestigious development of new build homes project in Halifax. The project included 1800mm diameter attenuating pipes and installation of hydro-brakes, penstock manholes and service ducts. Oakland’s elected to use kerb extrusion as a time saving exercise to enable the road to be formed ahead of the initial programme. This made the site available to plot works commencement and assisted with draining the heavily waterlogged site. The benefit of our programme and reducing the quantity of saturated arising’s off site reduced the cost of off-site disposal and gave improvement for overall build programme.

Oaklands completed this roads and sewers scheme over an 8 week period. The project included a large cut and fill operation exploiting won material from the demolition of the old pottery factory and on site management in conjunction with managing potentially hazardous waste within the CL:AIRE code of practice.

Oaklands fulfilled construction of the foul rising main and pumping station, all associated drainage to include pipes, manholes and first off manholes, all surface water drainage and large diameter concrete attenuation, flow control chambers and hydro-brake manholes. Our package included connection into existing adopted waste systems, entrance works and diversions, section agreements and adoptions.

We assisted with the re-design implementation to generate cost savings, through modification to drainage to increase attenuated volume of surface water stored in manholes whilst removing the requirement for extra over fill material to make the existing formation levels work.

We were later instructed to form piling matts and attend the piling operation, install service ducts, scaffold strips and drainage between plots and to manage the site for follow on trades to commence plot works whilst installing water, electric and ducts for broadband connectivity.
